Todd Bates is a seasoned paranormal investigator and EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) specialist whose passion for uncovering the voices of the unseen has become his life’s work. You might have found him exploring an abandoned home with walls yellowed by age and doors teetering on their hinges—perhaps a site of tragedy, fire, or even mystery. In such places, Todd listens for the whispers of the departed. Today, he shares his expertise with audiences worldwide on his radio show, EVP Explorations, broadcast on the Sacred Spiral Network.
The Voice of EVP
Todd’s unwavering passion is Electronic Voice Phenomenon, the spirit voices captured on digital or analog recording devices that remain inaudible to the naked ear. For him, collecting this evidence of paranormal origin is more than a hobby—it’s a calling. After years of investigating the mysteries of EVP and learning under pioneers like Sarah Estep, Todd channeled his dedication into education, founding Haunted Voices in 2004. Through this platform, he taught countless others about EVP and hosted the Haunted Voices radio show.
Broadcast and Digital Media Pioneer
From 2021 to 2023, Todd owned and operated WLTK-DB Talk Radio, a digital station dedicated to paranormal talk programming. His innovative approach brought live, original content to an ever-growing audience of like-minded enthusiasts.
Author and Storyteller
Todd is the author of The Haunted Voice, an autobiography chronicling his journey into the paranormal, his battle with alcoholism, and the experiences that shaped his life. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books.
Television Appearances
Todd has lent his voice and expertise to television, narrating The Ghost Finders for two seasons. He also served as an advisor for Discovery Channel’s A Haunting (notably the “Sallie House” episode) and appeared on programs such as WTHI-TV’s The Ashmore Experiment and WTWO-TV (NBC affiliate).
Radio Experience
A graduate of broadcasting school, Todd boasts over 23 years of radio experience under the Haunted Voices and EVP Explorations brands. His career began with Dr. Ed Craft on Magick Mind Radio (an IBC Network program) before moving on to co-host Alabama Para-Spiritual Radio with Dr. Jimmy Lowery. He soon launched his own live show on BBS Radio, delving into all things paranormal. Todd has also appeared on The Man Cow Show, WTAY FM, WTYE AM, WZPL 99.5 FM, X-Zone Radio, Voice of America, and The Jeff Rense Show, sharing his wealth of knowledge with diverse audiences.
